Mr. Ruskin has acted as receiver/liquidator of failed insurance companies, marshaling millions in assets, consolidating operations across 30 different companies and their affiliates. In that capacity, he coordinated fraud and related investigations extending across the U.S., Central America and Europe.

He has turnaround and startup experience with insurance and other industries, and has represented commercial interests with operations, expansion planning, and litigation. Additionally, Mr. Ruskin has extensive criminal trial experience as a defense attorney.

Large losses and claims that Mr. Ruskin has been involved with have included:

• Lost income and related claims, due to the B.P. oil spill  
• Commercial, injury and property claims arising from
  • a fertilizer plant fire and the evacuation of the cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas.  
  • fire & explosion at an oil facility in New Iberia, Louisiana
  • explosion at a waste water facility in Santa Paula, California
• NFIP Flood and other property damage following Hurricanes Katrina, Wilma, Ike, Irene, Issac, Lee, and Sandy    
• Litigation review of Hurricane Sandy flood claim files for a major, national insurer
• Sandy Task Force reviews for the NFIP, training and review process design & implementation
• Reinsurers' subrogation interests at and litigation arising from the Kaiser Alumina Plant explosion, Gramercy, Louisiana.
• N.O.R.M. claims and litigation in Harvey, Louisiana
• Tornado, hail and other property damage in Missouri, Texas and elsewhere
• Katrina wind damage and business income losses at a 700 unit apartment complex, in Algiers, Louisiana

Following the flooding of Hurricane Katrina, in New Orleans, Mr. Ruskin left a small, niche firm of engineer lawyers.

For many years, Mr. Ruskin had been a faculty member with the Trial Advocacy program at the Tulane University Law School, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
